Each and every program delivered by Archaeology, Can You Dig it? has been developed by combining over 15 years of experience in archaeology field work with years of experience working in traditional school settings and teaching in and managing science museums. Some programs may be delivered virtually, and custom programs are also available. When you choose Archaeology, Can You Dig It? to teach your children about anthropology, archaeology, and chemistry topics, you can rest assured that you're investing in a high-quality, impactful educational experience—that your kids will love! Popular programs:

 

Artifact Show & Tell: Students have the opportunity to see fascinating archaeological artifacts firsthand, learning all about their provenance and why they're important to human history. One-hour program; up to 30 children per session. Ages 5-12. Cost: $350.00.​

All Things Chemistry!: Yes, we offer chemistry lessons, too! Let us demonstrate a variety of impressive STEM-based chemistry principles for your students, including frozen bubbles, needle through a balloon, science in a bag, and more! One-hour program; up to 30 children per session. Ages 8-13. Cost: $400.00.

Castles and CatapultsEngage in epic battles with other participants, by using handmade catapults and building castles out of everyday objects! Students will defend their castle and try to take down their opponents' castles while learning about history and culture. One-hour program; up to 30 children per session. Ages 6-14. Cost: $400.00.​

Mummy RapDo your kids love music AND mummies?? Students will work in teams to compose a one-of-a-kind rap about mummies, then race against each other to see who can wrap their mummy the fastest--all while learning about Ancient Egypt! One-hour program; up to 20 children per session. Ages 6-14. Cost: $450.00. Note for younger audiences: This activity does involve interacting with life-size, realistic-looking mummy replicas.

Puzzle of Pots: Students learn all about the principles behind archaeology lab work as they decorate pots, break them into pieces, and then put them back together! Each child takes home their reconstructed pot. One-hour program; up to 30 children per session. Ages 8-13. Cost: $450.00.

Dig Pits: Students excavate actual artifacts as archaeologists would—on a smaller scale, using classroom-friendly dig and grid pits. Also includes lessons on garbology and animal pelts. One-hour program; up to 20 children per session. Ages 5-12. Cost: $550.00.

Facial Reconstruction: Using human skull replicas, students learn how archaeologists scientifically establish how someone who died long ago may have looked. Program will require multiple visits to complete; up to 20 children per session. Ages 9-14. Cost: Starting at $550.00/hour.​

School Residencies: We are able to book multi-day, on-site engagements at your school. Ask us about the programs we can offer during extended programs at your school!

Other educational, engaging, experiential, and fun hour-long programs: We offer a variety of other hour-long programs, including language deciphering, a mummy wrap activity, and even a (very hands-on!) catapult construction lesson! Programs can be tailored to meet your needs. One-hour programs; up to 25 children per session. Ages 6 and up. Cost: Starting at $350.00/hour.​

Archaeology, Can You Dig It? is a versatile program and is designed to meet the needs of various institutions and time frames. Payment is due within 14 days of program date; an additional fee of 25% of the total bill will be assessed if payment is not made on time. A cancellation fee of 50% of entire bill will be due if cancellation isn't provided at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled program date. Mileage fees to and from the presentation location may apply and are calculated at 65.5 cents/mile; rate is determined by the IRS.
